Indications:
Supplementation of an everyday diet with mucilaginous substances that cover and coat the gastrointestinal tract, especially during excessive secretion of gastric juice (hyperacidity), in irritation of gastrointestinal mucosa. As the product contains a high level of dietary fiber, it may be also used in constipation and obesity.
Action:
Milled flax contains mucilages, dietary fiber, protein, lignans and mineral ingredients, B group vitamins and vitamin E.
Mucilages provide a thin layer over the mucosa of the esophagus, stomach and duodendum, and exert a function of natural protection against irritating factors as well as damaging excess of gastric acid. Mucilage layer over the gastrointestinal mucosa is sustained for a long time. It is digestive enzyme-resistant, it blocks the damaging compounds and inhibits their absorption. Dietary fiber found in the flax swells in the gastrointestinal tract, creates a feeling of fullness, increases the intestinal peristaltic movement and facilitates defecation. It decreases the cholesterol absorption. The protein found in the flax is easily digestible, easily absorbable and rich in exogenous amino acids which cannot be synthesized by the body itself and have to be supplied with food.
Lignans have antioxidant properties and protect against a damaging effect of the free radicals.
