BOBOGAST is used to relieve symptoms of intestinal gas accumulation such as flatulence, intestinal colic in infants and as an auxiliary agent before diagnostic imaging of the abdominal cavity (x-ray, ultrasound and endoscopic examination) to remove foam, excess gas and air.
BOBOGAST contains simethicone. It is a chemically and physiologically neutral substance, which is safe for the organism. Simethicone is not absorbed from the gastrointestinal tract, does not change gastric pH or interfere with metabolic processes or intestinal absorption. It is excreted unchanged. Simethicone is capable of decreasing the surface tension of mucus and gas bubbles accumulated in the intestines, helping break them up and causing them to combine into larger bubbles in the stomach that can be passed more easily.
Posology and method of administration:
Symptoms associated with excess gas accumulation in the intestines (flatulence, intestinal colic).
|Infants over 1 month up to 2 years of age||20 mg simethicone (press 1 time) 4 times daily|
|Children over 2 up to 6 years of age||40 mg simethicone (press 2 times) 4 times daily|
|Children over 6 up to 14 years of age||
40-80 mg simethicone (press 2-4 times) 3-5 times daily
|Children over 14 and adults||80 mg simethicone (press 4 times) 3-5 times daily|
Do not exceed the recommended doses.
Before diagnostic imaging (x-ray, ultrasound and endoscopic examination)
Unless otherwise indicated by the doctor, children, one day before the examination:
80 mg simethicone (press 4 times) 3 times daily, on the day of examination: 80 mg simethicone (press 4 times) in the morning.
The product is contraindicated in patients hypersensitive to simethicone or any other ingredient of the product.
Special warnings and special precautions for use:
Before using this product, consult your doctor if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
If the symptoms persist or worsen or if other gastrointestinal symptoms appear, you should consult your doctor in order to identify the cause and commence treatment.
No clinically relevant interactions of simethicone with other drugs were observed. Nevertheless, due to the risk of interactions it is not recommended to take BOBOGAST concomitantly with other drugs.
