Vitamin D3 plays an important physiological role in the metabolism of calcium and phosphate. It stimulates absorption of calcium and phosphate and helps maintain proper calcium blood levels, thus affecting bone and teeth mineralisation. Vitamin D3 facilitates normal immune system and muscle function.
Vitamin D3 1000 is recommended for adults:
- in insufficient vitamin D3 supply,
- in vitamin D3 deficiency affecting patients of over 65 years of age,
- from September to April, when exposure to sunlight is insufficient, and in the summer in patients of over 65 years of age,
- in increased demand for vitamin D3 (pregnancy, breast-feeding), with insufficient dietary supply and/or dermal synthesis
