Hasco-Lek and UPM Raflatac sum up their cooperation in the RafCycle programme

RafCycleTM by UPM Raflatac is a label waste recycling service where the film or paper release liner is processed and recirculated. Until this point, Hasco-Lek has recycled over 8 tonnes of label waste to give them a new life.

In September, we visited the UPM Raflatac plant to learn more about the production of labels and the company’s activity in terms of sustainable development. This was our second visit this year, and we are certain it will not be the last one.

UPM Raflatac provides sustainable, innovative products and solutions which enable making efficient and appealing labels without the use of fossil fuels.

At Hasco-Lek, we have been using RafCycle by UPM Raflatac for over a year. The label waste we provide are processed by UPM Raflatac’s partners into new label products, paper, PET products and other innovative solutions supporting the closed-loop economy.

In total, we have recycled over 8 tonnes of label liners. We are currently continuing our talks and verifying the options for broadening our cooperation so that, in the future, 100% of our label liners can be recycled. In the broader perspective, undertaking such actions is necessary, and it constitutes our shared responsibility for the environment as part of pursuing sustainability goals.
