Composition

Bisoprolol fumarate (Bisoprololi fumaras)

Indications

Hypertension Ischemic heart disease.

Contraindications

– acute heart failure or during episodes of heart failure decompensation requiring i.v. inotropic therapy
– cardiogenic shock
– second or third-degree AV block in patients without a pacemaker
– sick sinus syndrome
– sinoatrial block
– bradycardia (less than 50 beats per minute before the start of treatment)
– hypotension (systolic pressure less than 90 mmHg)
– severe bronchial asthma or severe COPD (chronic obstructive pulmonary disease)
– severe forms of peripheral arterial occlusive disease or severe forms of Raynaud’s syndrome
– metabolic acidosis
– untreated phaeochromocytoma.

Bisoprolol should not be used during pregnancy unless absolutely necessary (bisoprolol may cause harmful effects on pregnancy, the foetus and newborn). The preparation is contraindicated during breastfeeding.
