Perazin

Composition

Perazine (Perazinum), magnesium carbonate – heavy, Povidone K 30, croscarmellose sodium and magnesium stearate

Indications

Various forms of schizophrenia and acute psychotic disorders (including catatonic) with accompanying symptoms of psychomotor agitation, mania and delusions.

Contraindications

Do not use if the patient is allergic (hypersensitive) to perazine or any of the other ingredients of the drug, or other antipsychotics, especially phenothiazine derivatives; if the patient has a history of neuroleptic malignant syndrome, severe damage to the bone marrow or blood cells, if the patient suffers from coma, if the patient is pregnant or breast-feeding, if the patient is acutely intoxicated with any of the following: sleeping pills, opioids, other medicines neuroleptics, sedatives, antidepressants, alcohol; if the patient has prolactin-dependent tumors (due to the increased prolactin secretion induced by perazine), if the patient has liver failure or depression.
