The active substance is iodinated povidone. 1 g of solution contains 100 mg of iodinated povidone.
The other ingredients (excipients) are: citric acid monohydrate, nonylphenyl polyoxyethylene glycol ether (Rocophenol N-8), disodium phosphate dodecahydrate, purified water.
PV Jod 10% is used:
to prevent and treat infections of the skin and mucous membranes caused by bacteria, fungi and viruses (impetigo, purulent and seborrheic inflammations, boils, mycosis of the feet),
to disinfect wounds, especially superficial ones and after surgical procedures, as well as burns, crusts and ulcerations, especially on the legs,
to disinfect skin before surgical procedures,
to disinfect the mucous membranes of the mouth and vagina.
Do not use the medicinal product:
if the patient is hypersensitive to the active substance, iodine or to any of the excipients,
orally,
in patients with dysfunctions and diseases of the thyroid gland,
in children up to 2 years old,
long-term,
on extensive body surfaces (over 30%),
in chronically ill patients,
in people with kidney failure,
in patients treated concomitantly with lithium products.
